‘A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief’

 A beloved 19th-century hymn focusing on Christian service and based on Matthew 25:37–40. The lyrics tell a story of a traveler who is helped by a narrator through various trials. It is famously noted for being sung in Carthage Jail just before the martyrdom of Joseph and Hyrum Smith.
